Do you serve port, sherry or others after dinner ?

Tawny ports , Louis Thirteen, Martell Cordon Blues|||Ports and sherries fall into the "aperitif" category.

An apéritif or aperitif is an alcoholic drink usually enjoyed as an appetizer before a large meal. It is often served with something small to eat, like olives or crackers.

The word is French and is derived from the Latin verb “aperire”, which means to open.

Ports however are often served after dinner with cheese and biscuits as dessert of just on it's own if a guest doesn't want dessert.

However these days things are not that formal, so both are acceptable before and after dinner.

Hope this clears things up a little.|||Port and Sherry are suitable before a meal much in the same way as you might serve cocktails, with a light snack (such as nuts). I find that port and sherry, but especially a vintage port, is a nice way to finish a meal that has featured a selection of red wines. Pairing port with dessert can work well, but I prefer the port on its own, after or instead of dessert, with a piece of dark chocolate.|||Yes. It usually depends on what the dessert is going to be.

Salud...os!!!!
