Would you make a cocktail for Patron Anejo?
Patron Silver is actually the one that is suppose to be for cocktails
- Patron-A is my first tequila taste and If I would be honest to myself - cognac like Martell VSOP is much better than Patron-A|||Not personally, I don't like Patron, but it's too expencive to waste in a cocktail.|||Anejo tequila is meant to be sipped neat, plain and simple. To use it in a drink is pointless, since you'll miss out on the nuances aging provides. Stick with blancos and repos for cocktails.

Life of Pi - very good read and fairly quick. Worth reading.
Plainsong - The quickest read on the list. You can actually skim parts and it will still make sense. Some people love this book. I thought it was okay.|||As you're reading the book you'll notice that characters that have names that begin with C are evil (like Cain), and A named characters are good (like Abel). It's such a fantasic book, I hope you enjoy it!

Why don't they let you choose someting GOOD?
Ask if you can read Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harret Beecher Stowe. Not P.C. these days, but it is probably the single most influental book in American History. According to Stowe's son, when Abraham Lincoln met her in 1862 Lincoln commented, "So this is the little lady who started this great war." I would say that helping to start the Civil War makes that book a bit more important than anything on your list. When you get 150,000 men to march into the middle of Gettysburg Pennsylvania and start shooting each other over anything Yann Martel or Alice Walker write, I'll reconsider that statment.
OR you could read almost anything by Charles Dickens... Great Expectations is my favorite, but Bleak House (who can forget the case of Jarndyce vs. Jarndyce?) is good too.
If you MUST read Stienbeck , read Travels with Charlie. That's a great book. I really enjoyed it.
On Human Bondage by Sommerset Maughm is excellent.

C.S. Lewis' THAT HIDEOUS STRENGHT is fantastic. I think it is his best work, though I am also partial to The Great Divorce.
The Mote in God's Eye is widely considered to be the best Science Fiction Novel ever written. Larry Niven (one of the co-authors) said that the hardest thing to write is a good alien, you have to write where they think AS WELL as you do, but DIFFERENTLY. Very difficult to do, but he, (and Jerry Pournelle) pull it off beautifuly.
What about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle? What about Edgar Allen Poe? The guy practically invented the horror story, detctive fiction and crime fiction. Where would network televison be today without him? THAT is an influental writer!
What about Kipling? In 1907, Kipling was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, making him the first English language writer to receive the prize, and he remains today its youngest-ever recipient.
What about Jules Vern? Inspiring several generations of engineers to make things like submarines and trips to the moon ought to count for something.
Then there is Hawthorne (I'm undecided on him, but he should be mentioned).
There is Beowulf and Gilgamesh, the first story in English and the first story EVER, as far as we can tell. There is Homer and Iliad and the Odyssey and Vergil's Aeneid.
Michael Shaara's THE KILLER ANGELS, which is on the Military Academy's required reading lists. (I had to read it three times when I was in Army Officer Training).

Speaking of Military Academy reading lists, STARSHIP TROOPERS by Robert Heinlien was on the required reading list at all three academies at one time or another, I am told. Raises a lot of good points, and makes you think outside the box.
My advice is go ask your teacher to read something GOOD, and argue your way out of the list of dreck she gave you to choose from|||Definitely Steinbeck--he's an incredible writer! Life of Pi is supposed to be interesting, but haven't read that one.
PS: Come on, now, sicking Gilgamesh on the poor kid?! He'll go crazy analyzing the philosophy in that! Poe is always a thrill, even if the works are much shorter than typically allowed.|||Mmm. I've heard great things from fellow graduate students about _East of Eden_. Plus I rather like Steinbeck. So I'd choose that or _The Color Purple_.
I had to read _Anna Karenina_ over the summer for my AP lit class.|||Color Purple by Alice Walker|||OK I am older so I am going old school with "The Color Purple" by Alice Walker (which I just saw in Chi-town at the Cadillac Theatre as a musical) or "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck. I am not dismissing the other choices; truth be told they are all excellent choices; it is a matter of personal opinion. Read any of these books and you will be the richer, my friend.|||'East Of Eden'|||My personal choice is East of Eden by Steinbeck. The Color Purple and The Life of Pi use more contemporary lanugage and might be easier reads though. Good luck!|||humpty dumbty sat on a wall too!

Wright doesn't play cuz they signed Posey, not cuz Wright isn't good. Webster is pretty good, but he is injured a lot and other guys got in the rotation above him.

But it doesn't matter because your team is already great. Your front court's pretty good, but the back court is weak. I know that you have Derrick Rose, but you need a better Shooting Guard to make your back court unstoppable. Your Bench is okay, but you need to make it deeper. The players that are fine are J.J Redick and Taj Gibson. But the rest? They're not very active. OVERALL, it's a great little team. Guys like Sebastian Telfair and Stephon Marbury aren't championship players, they are "ME" players who think of themself first or want to look good on Sportscenter. Martell Webster is just a shooter? Who should I cut for Kirk Hinrich?
I have Jason Kapono, Sebastian Telfair, and Martell Webster that I am thinking about cutting. What should I do?|||Really, any 3 would do. I would lean towards Webster or Kapono. Telfair will soon return to a reserve role but may have some value for the next few weeks. Kapono isnt really worth having on any roster ATM, but helps with %'s and 3's, so if you need those, maybe look elsewhere. Webster could pick it up, but has really started to slow down lately and doesnt give much block or steal help. So he is a canidate to release too.|||definitely Kapono. lets face it, he is playing really bad right now.

You should immediately reject it if you are involve in 12team league since there are more players in the free agent that is much better than those two. However if you are in a 18 or 20 team league like me. Things will be much different, since the efficiency of your team will depend on how many 30-70% owned you have and not on All-star players. If you will just drop bench players (less than 5% owned) I think you should consider this trade since it will give you a much more deep team..|||Definately not! For two reasons:
A. Baron Davis is the best player involved in the trade (16 pts / 8 ast / 2+ stl) --- which YOU would be giving up. None of the three offered players are even close to the impact of Davis.
B. Additionally, you'd have to cut two players to re-balance your roster limit.

Getting picked #5 in a very deep draft says something about his skill level - plus he was great in college. He and Durant should make the Seattle (or Oklahoma City) Sonics a very competitive team in the near future.

I'm sick of Delonte West already and need a boost in 3PTSM and FG% from waivers. Who to choose?
I have Antoine Wright, Rasual Butler, Martell Webster and Keith Bogans available. I was leaning towards Butler, but Webster's overall line might be more impressive. Any advice guys? I'm 2nd overall in my league and I like the way my team sets up over the year. I really want to win this one. ;)|||While there are exceptions, players usually need two things to put up fantasy worthy numbers minutes and the ball. Even the worst players (Clarence Weatherspoon, Nick Anderson) have put up monster numbers given enough minutes and no competition for the ball (i.e. bad teams). Martell Webster is getting starters minutes and plays for a Blazers team where he has very little competition for the ball.
He is by far their best 3 point shooter which is key to the offense they run so he has to start.
The team's best player Brandon Roy is playing injured and will most likely miss significant time.
3 key members of the rotation Pryzbilla, Blake and Outlaw are not significant offensive players.
Two guys suppose to provide offense Jack and Frye look miserable so far .
Webster will start, rain threes and if/when Roy goes down becomes an absolute studd. Another smilar player I like if available is R. McCants on the T-wolves.

What Armagnac should I try first?
I've tasted a couple cognacs and I actually like Martell XO quite a bit, probably because it's lighter and easier. I wanted to try some Armagnac but I don't know where to start. Bevmo has Cles des Ducs VSOP Armagnac, Cerbois Bas Armagnac XO, Dartigalongue Xo Bas Armagnac, Les Domaines Grassa Reserve Armagnac, Marquis Roquebrune Armagnac VS. I know a few fine liquor stores to check too. My budget is $100 (preferably much less than that for my first armagnac)

Is Marc Blount a waste of a pick up?
Would you rather have guys like Martell Webster, Maurice Evans , Bonzi Wells , Jason Williams or Marcus Banks even? Marc Blount puts points on the board but barely rebounds or blocks. What do you think?|||out of those players, blount is probably the best bet. obviously he's not really a very good player but with no one in miami to really back him up he should get consistent minutes and points. with wade getting doubleteamed and now marion as well, he should see a lot more open looks.|||I would rather have none of those guys.

What if they traded all there draft picks plus Jarret Jack, Martell Webster, Travis Outlaw, and Channing Fry for Elton Brand or maybe even Shawn Marion???|||That would be awful. Outlaw and Webster are staying for the long haul, and tabbing a power forward would only make Aldridge sit the pine more then he already does. I didnt, so who do you think is better and why?|||Jason terry b/c he's a true veteran and M.Webster is still an upcoming player plus he is injury going into this season. If you can make a run at defence and reboundsand lock down blocks, you're team could be very scary. Marcus Camby is a blocking machine and as the Nuggets keep winning he will make a presence insde to putting up I predict 20 pts and 10 rbs, 4-6 blocks a game. Al harrington is just sick at 3's and can also catch boards. Lamar Odom is capable of 3's and boards. On some nights, Redd can be really off and on. I suggest you make this great trade. Webster is a lock to be in the starting lineup and he's gonna flourish playing alongside Roy and Aldridge as the season moves along

If you need good FG %26amp; FT percentages and great steals number, go with Brewer. If you need a lot threes and a few more rebounds, go with Webster. Their points production should be about the same.|||You're welcome!

It'd be tough for Ronnie Brewer to get more oppurtunities with the ball playing on the same team with Deron Williams , Andrei Kirilenko , Mehmet Okur and Carlos Boozer * who all average over 15 points a game|||Webster.|||Webster can be lights out and Brewer can be physical. I think Webster|||I would say Webster only because he doesn't have any established stars on his team where brewer has to contend with boozer, D. This is actually a good comparison but I will lean towards Martell Webster because of the reason I mentioned and it just appears he has explosive offensive potential.|||All I can say is Martell Webster can hammer threes...don't know about Brewer|||Webster is a lot better, straight out of high school and then played for the blazers, then went to NBDL when he got really good and is now back with the Blazers. His story is kinda like Jordan Farmar who was also sent to the NBDL but now has proven to be really good|||who ?? ? ?|||Don't know much about webster...but brewer can shoot and he is 4th in the league on steals, and he is fast. So im leanin towards BREWER definately...

What do you think of the Portland Trail Blazers so far?
They're sitting in 5th place in the West, 25-16. Their only players that are healthy and playing are: Andre Miller, Brandon Roy, Martell Webster, LaMarcus Aldridge, Juwan Howard, Jerryd Bayless, Rudy Fernandez, Steve Blake, Dante Cunningham, and Jeff Pendergraph. How long will this keep up? Are they going to make the playoffs? Please explain.|||4th place in the playoffs in my mind.
They've been impressive so far and they are coming a BIG threat to BIG teams. I mean i don't think any of us predicted they would beat the magic with a 15 point buffer and they beat the nuggets by what was it 11 or 9 and you don't beat big teams easily. They worked hard this season and some of the times they don't get rewarded for it. There's a possibility they could get to the conference finals maybe if they work ALOT harder there is a chance for the finals but seriously don't worry about them not getting into the finals and they'll keep it up alright.|||I am a Lakers Fan but I admire the Portland Trailblazers, they have always given the Lakers some trouble for years now. I think it's a great-run organization. The owner and general manager know how to acquire players for cheap.LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy are no chicken livers. They can play and they don't cost that much. For nine straight games in the Blazers home court they have beaten the Lakers a Powerhouse team. That is saying a lot for a young team with mostly rookies and sophomore players (meaning it's really a young team) Clippers can't even play like the Blazers with a better roster. I think the Blazers just keep doing what they are doing right now and they will be fine. If they keep this roster for years, they will be a force to be reckon with in the future. If I were you, I will always stay a Blazers fan. Your owner is a good owner, he knows how to hire good people. You always had great players. I think a little player here and there can make a difference. Alright , I'm glad the Twolves got Derrick Williams but they have soo many other forwards with potential. I mean Kevin Love , Martell Mebster , Anthony Randolph , Wes Johnson , and Michael Beasley . Sooo are they gunna start trading or what ...|||Perhaps they might trade to get a veteran that's what they need|||They will totally be trading. Probably Webster or Randolph would be the obvious ones to ship off, OR they're playing hard to get about Beasley by claiming that they want to keep him in order to drive up his trade value.
Webster and Johnson can play SG if they have to though, so there's a lil' more room than ya think. Small ball anyone? Love at the 5.|||They are going to have a productive bench. Webster is going to get better as the season moves a long and will get more opportunities than Bell.
Bell has to many guys that are taking PT away from him (Hill,Barbosa,Diaw,Marion)
Sure Marion plays at the 4 but he also slides down to the 3 and that cuts in.
Webster is is already doing what you would expect from Bell but Webster will get better so look for his current numbers to go up.
